All of the animals at Billie Swamp Safari are my favorite.  Any animal that God has created is my favorite.  The most useful animal in my opinion, is a chicken.  Mainly because everything tastes like chicken.

Upbringing
Ed was raised in a Christian-country home in the Green Swamp in Central Florida.  His family raised every kind of animal you can think of and also grew their own food.    He is the baby of five and has a twin sister.  His father passed away when he was 10.  His mother passed away when he was 16.  He has been catching alligators and snakes his entire life.  

Military
Ed joined the Marine Corp at age 17 after graduating high school.  He was a member of the Marine Corp Infantry and is a well-seasoned combat Veteran.  During his tenure with the Marine Corp, he traveled the world two times and visited more than 39 countries.  He was in the Marines for four years during which time he fought in Operation Just Cause (invasion of Panama.)  He received an Honorable Discharge and started college.  He was then called back into the Marines for Desert Storm because of his combat experience.  He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Professional Life
In 1992, Ed started working for the Seminole Tribe of Florida and has been with Billie Swamp Safari since its creation (February 1993.)  While at Billie Swamp Safari, Ed has been behind the creation of many of the tours and programs offered to the public.  Ed is a member of the Federal Governments’ Panther Recovery Team and Off-Road Vehicle Committee for the Big Cypress National Preserve as appointed by the Department of Interior.

Personal Life
Ed enjoys spending time with his lady and squeezing his chickens.  He also says “I love Christmas the most!”

Hobbies
Include finding fossils (woolly mammoths, old bottles, etc.,) flint knapping arrowheads, diving, working on his log cabin.
