Ed, Ok, so you found that dead panther by a radio collar, right? So why then can't you find live ones by radio and maybe film them in thier natural enviroment and maybe tell about an average day for them. I think if people were more informed about them then maybe they would be more aware and help them survive. What do you think?

Mary, Regarding your latest question, there are not many cats that are collared. Yes, we can easily find the collared cats. However it is better not to disturb them unless it is necessary. The FWC and the Panther Recovery Team are the folks that handle all matters with the Florida Panthers. We assist them when they need to deal with a cat on Seminole land. Education is the key, but even then that sometimes doesn’t help. The Florida Panther has lost its habitat and unless people leave Florida forever, except the Native Americans, I don’t know what the plight of the panther will be.

The Seminole shirts can be purchased in the gift shop at Billie Swamp Safari or the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum on the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation.
